This gown was made for the 1569/2005 main event at Kentwell. It is made up of a linen smock, linen petticoat, silk farthingale, red wool/silk kirtle and matching slashed sleeves, and the brown wool gown on top. It is worn with a black wool cap and linen head band as well as linen wrist and neck ruffs, which pin into place. Everything is hand sewn in linen or silk thread. I also wore the gown with a low-necked smock and redworked partlet and also, when the weather was cold, with a black wool partlet. I spent most of the event sewing ruffs, as these first two pictures show.

This next picture, courtesy of Sarah of Mode Historique, shows the same gown and kirtle worn with a black wool partlet and a red silk brocade forepart and sleeves borrowed from My Lady's Wardrobe. I'm not wearing a neck ruff with this - it was in the wash. Instead, there's a ruffle on the neck of my smock. I think I prefer the gown with this style of partlet but, unfortunately, it was too hot for most of the event to wear it so.

Some more photos, taken towards the end of the event. These aren't the most flattering of pictures!
